GSS Admission Process

1. Acquiring the Admission Form: Prospective applicants must purchase or obtain the admission form directly from the Government Secretarial School’s campus.

2. Completing the Admission Form: Applicants must thoroughly fill out the admission form with accurate and complete information.

3. Submission of Completed Form: Once the admission form is duly filled, applicants are to submit it back to the Government Secretarial School campus.

4. Interview Scheduling: The school will schedule a specific date for applicants to attend an interview. This interview serves as an opportunity for the school to assess the suitability of candidates for the secretarial programs.

5. Notification of Successful Applicants: Following the interview process, successful applicants will be notified of their admission status. Those who meet the criteria and are accepted into the program will receive formal communication from the school.

6. Issuance of Admission Letter and Prospectus: Successful applicants will be awarded an admission letter, confirming their acceptance into the Government Secretarial School. Additionally, they will receive a prospectus containing important information about the school, its facilities, programs, and any other relevant details.

The Government Secretarial School offers various programmes, including full-time traditional secretarial programmes such as Stenographer Courses (Steno II, Stenographer Secretary, and Private Secretary).

GSS offers promotion and competency-based courses such as Management Administration and Leadership, Managing People, Electronic Records Management, English Language (Part I and II), General Administrative Procedures (Modern Practices), Office Procedures and Business Communication, Planning for Retirement, Practical Office Procedures, Proof Reading and Editing, Report Writing Skills, Health and Law.

We also provide fast-track office proficiency training programmes such as IT Fundamentals, Practical Approach to Word Processing/Touch Typing, Introduction to the Internet and email systems, Cybercrime and Cyber Security, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Having a background in secretarial studies is not a requirement for admission to the Government Secretarial School. The courses are designed to provide a solid foundation and progressively build the necessary skills.

The Government Secretarial School adopts an inclusive admission policy that considers applicants from various educational backgrounds. This approach allows individuals with different qualifications and experiences to apply and benefit from the secretarial training programs.

Government Secretarial School accepts applicants with WASSCE/SSCE/GCE O'LEVELS/'A'LEVEL/GBCE/ABCE/BECE (Access Course) holders including Degree and HND qualifications, including SGII, SGI, SS, PS certificate holders, and any other equivalent Secretarial Certificate.
